THE GREENS’ PLAN TO PROTECT OUR FORESTS

Protect our Forests Initiative

Victorians value our native forests, however they are being destroyed for pulp, paper and profit.

As a key source of clean air, water, carbon storage and habitat for threatened species, these forests are precious and must be protected.

The Protect our Forests Initiative outlines the Greens plan to end the destructiveness of native forest logging, the underhanded corporate and political profiteering and a way to move forward and into a more sustainable future.

Repeal the Wood Pulp Agreement Act

For over 80 years this archaic piece of legislation has guaranteed Victoria's forests are logged, woodchipped and turned into paper at the Maryvale Pulp Mill. With species on the brink of extinction, entire ecosystems heading toward collapse it's time to take action. It's time to end the destructive and damaging Wood Pulp Agreement Act.
